NINJA MOTHERFUCKING DESTRUCTION

Shot over eight years between 2017 and 2024, the film follows the physical and emotional development of the main character Leonie be­tween the ages of 18 and 25, exploring the loving, painful, ambivalent network of relationships between (queer) women. A coming-of-age story that captures the coming of age of the main char­acter and the filmmakers.

“With NINJA MOTHERFUCKING DESTRUCTION, I want to make space in cinema for a young female or queer body to grow up without the male gaze. The movie also deals with mental health struggles in young romantic relationships, which my characters handle with self-determination and hope. Most importantly, Leonie discovers love and fulfillment in her friendships.” (Lotta Schwerk)
