When the rebellious Elisabeth (“Sisi”) meets Franz, the Emperor of Austria, the young couple‘s intoxicating love completely upsets the power structure of the ruling family. After the wedding, the young empress not only has to find her bearings in a world that is foreign to her, but also has to assert herself against her mother-in-law Sophie and deal with Franz‘s unpredictable brother Maxi.
