THE POSTMAN

Set in the Afghan capital of Kabul in February 1992, THE POSTMAN tells the story of an ordinary man, the kind-hearted and dutiful postman Amir (played by the Kurdish-Iraqi actor-director Hussein Hassan), as he struggles for survival in a city on the brink of a massive and tragic transformation with Islamist warlords and Mujahideen fight for power as they advance steadily towards Kabul.

The film explores the resilience of the human spirit, mirrored in the lives of the residents whose apartments the postman visits to deliver both heartbreaking and joyful news.
