Kids are playing in the streets, the elders are waiting for the rain. Rain means food, rain means life. But the rain also brings the “bad air” – the Mala Aria. When the rains are gone, the mala aria will have taken the kids as its toll. The documentary follows four ordinary people who oppose this curse from different angles to lower the malaria burden among their communities: the “retired“ midwife Eugenia, Kwame and his team of the National Malaria Control Program Ghana, the Kenyan investigative journalist David and the refugee Precious who is drugged with antimalarials by the Greek authorities to prevent another local outbreak, as malaria spreads into the north by globalization.
