MIKEL is about a young man trying to free himself from an exploitative work situation. As an illegal refugee, he works for Norbert’s renovation company. Norbert, a German, promises him a residency permit and fair pay. In gentrified Berlin, Mikel lives the life of a nomad. But his awareness of the exploitation becomes increasing difficult to justify with his own self-esteem. Without really knowing where he is going, he takes off in search of an alternative.
